AUDITION INFORMATION
University of Arizona Orchestras 2007-2008 All instrumentalists schedule auditions at: www.cfa.arizona.edu/uabands/prospective/audition.php Fall 2007 string audition excerpts to download (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader). Wind, brass and percussion players download excerpts from the UA Bands site above. The Arizona Symphony, the school's pre-professional orchestral ensemble, performs six challenging concert programs and collaborates frequently with the UA Opera Theatre and School of Dance productions. Composed primarily of music majors, the orchestra is open to qualified non majors and members of the UA community. Rehearsals are M/W/F afternoons from 2-3:50. Students admitted by audition to the Arizona Symphony will register for MUS 200-O, 400-O, or 500-O: Section 1. The UA Philharmonic is composed of music majors, minors, non majors and UA community members. The Philharmonic is lead by conducting graduate students James Stopher and Eiki Isomura supervised by Dr. Thomas Cockrell and Professor Charles Bontrager. Frequent sectional rehearsals lead by graduate assistants emphasize the improvement of technical and ensemble skills. UA students may participate on a for-credit or extracurricular basis.
